“In order to write about life, you must first live it.” –Ernest Hemingway
*Insert standing ovation here*
Perfection is a myth. From this moment on I want all of us to imagine the Loch Ness Monster and Bigfoot riding a purple unicorn being chased by a dragon when we think of perfection. While a beautiful concept to entertain, it’s just not very realistic. Progress however, is not only attainable but it should be our goal in anything we do. Progress means growth, change and that hope will always continue. “Perfection” suggests that growth stops which leaves us with nothing to strive for and no purpose to carry us towards hope. Talk about a nightmare!
That’s why I chose this quote from John Green, he reminds us that sucking at things is part of chasing life and hope being carried towards success. Sucking means we learn, we grow, we thrive. Sure it’s rough at times, that’s why it’s called sucking but on the other side of sucking is purpose, thriving and hope.
