“Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it.” –Helen Keller
Isn’t this reassuring to note? Especially right now as we seem to be facing challenge after challenge. Daily I see memes, images and comments joking about all of the negative things that have happened in 2020. I’ll be honest, I’ve made my fair share of these jokes and comments. Looking back through the year so far it’s so easy to see all of the mess and disaster that has filled each month. This quote really hit home for me though because I finally have been able to mentally step outside of my doomsday perspective. Overcoming challenges is who I am at my core and I know it’s yours too. I know this because I know the deep survivor spirit that lives inside everyone on this earth. I’ve seen person after person be faced with what appears to be insurmountable odds and one small step after another they overcome whatever is in their path to success. Sometimes it’s themselves who are standing in their own way and they fight through their own barrier to conquer all. Suffering is real, challenges come up and barriers will always get in our way but overcoming is what we do because conquerors and warriors are who we are. Never underestimate yourself and always remember that the world is full of overcoming.
