"A good half of the art of living is resilience." —Alain de Botton
First of all I love this quote merely for the words “the art of living” because it shows us we are all Picasso, Da Vinci, or Michelangelo (no not the Ninja Turtle). Look at your life in comparison to those around you. So different, so vibrant, so beautiful. I love it. And it’s in part to the resilience we all have and how we move through life changing the canvas as we go. Everyone faces hard times but no one responds to them the same. In my own world I’ve experienced the same loss as my brothers but we each painted our canvas differently with the resilience we have. Same for the best of times, my husband and I both experienced the births of our children but the resilient response to that change was different.
The art of living is a beautiful thing, though sometimes dark and painful, it’s still defined by resilience and because of that we always have bright colors of hope.
