“Just get it down on paper, and then we'll see what to do with it.” –Maxwell Perkins

I laughed when I read this quote because it so perfectly fits my world. I often have people reach out and ask me how I write these Recovery Talks. The real truth is that I don’t have a process – I just sit down in front of a huge list of quotes I’ve continued to collect and I read them till something jumps out at me. Then I usually sit for a while reading and re-reading that quote until more words form. That is my epically genius process. Ha! So why do I bring this up? There is so much in life that we look at and wish we could do. The reality is that we can do anything if we just try. I have always wanted to inspire people. Since I was young I wanted to write, share who I am, where I come from, what I’ve been through and help people see hope. I never thought I would actually get to put my inner magic to use. To some, writing for Hope Inc. Stories may seem impossible and I get it. I’ve got lists of things “I wish I could do” and I haven’t really tried. Life is full of practice, failures, and “get back up again’s.” Recovery Talks are my “thing,” what is yours? Have you found your magic yet? Maybe you know what you would love for it to be but you haven’t taken the step to try yet. That magic needs to be shared. We all have magic. Maybe the process isn’t a smooth one but it’s still magic the world needs to experience. Take your magic, try it and share it!
