Savor it

If you don’t love it, don’t eat it, and if you do love it, savor it. –Evelyn Tribole

How many times in your day are you doing something because you HAVE to? How much of your time is spent living in the world of “responsibility” or “obligation?” I’m going to throw out a guess and say too much. What if you flipped the script a bit? I’m not talking about a shopping spree you can’t afford or neglecting things that need to happen. What about taking just a few minutes each day to do something you love and really take the time to savor and enjoy it? Start small. Do you love ice cream? Go get a scoop and while you eat it, focus, and savor every bite. Enjoy a walk in the park? Leave your phone in the car for 15 minutes and walk through the park smelling the grass and feeling the air and sun on your skin. In the car and your favorite song comes on? Turn it up and dance it out! (Safely of course). You deserve these moments of blissful happiness. I promise you won’t regret taking these moments to savor the life you have. Whatever in this chaotic world we live in that makes your heart sing just a little bit, savor that. Can’t steal away time every day? Start small! Take time to savor once a week. Just stop and savor.
