Wellness Tool #2: Breathing

I first learned the importance of breathing to our overall wellness during my hospital stay over five years ago. I discovered that my breathing was short and choppy and I learned deep breathing exercises to help lengthen my inhales and exhales to help smooth it out. Today, I use deep breathing as a way of helping me with anxiety and depression. After several minutes of deep breathing I am able to recognize that my problems do not need to be solved immediately, however, I need to schedule a time to deal with them.
