“When you have exhausted all possibilities, remember this. You haven’t.” –Thomas Edison
Read that again.
This reminds me of the movie The Goonies where this group of kids face challenge after challenge, and barrier after barrier, but are constantly saying “Goonies never die!” It’s the concept that no matter what happens we can’t give up. It’s a fact life is rough and we can always keep going. Maybe we’ve tried many options and nothing has helped the situation. That doesn’t mean we throw in the towel and count it as a loss. We haven’t found the right options, we have to keep seeking the solution, we have to keep fighting and thinking outside of the box. Possibilities truly are endless. Thomas Edison acquired 1,093 patents in his lifetime… people talk about him making 1,000 attempts at the lightbulb before getting it just right. I can’t imagine how many failed attempts he experienced where the 1,093 patents were involved; he just kept seeking the solution in a world of possibilities.
That takes passion, courage, drive and a solid belief that the answer is out there. We can have that same foundation in all we do. We can conquer every challenge that comes our way (and they will always come), we just have to remember: We haven’t exhausted all the possibilities and, “Goonies never die.”
